I’ve got a new release! This one is a short through Mocha Memoirs Press. What’s it about? Well, dear readers, I’ll tell you. It’s about a witch.
After the suicide of her husband, former witch Kamilah Lake wants a normal life, free from witchcraft. But the stigma of her mother’s legacy clings to her, leaving her isolated from many of the close minded town folk. But when a runaway bull invades her back yard, bringing with tempting Native American veterinarian Dr. Granger Hawkins, Kami can’t deny her attraction. Problem is, Dr. Hawkins is straight science, no chaser and witchcraft is in Kami’s blood.
I’d love to tell you more, but I can’t without giving away the fun of the story. Click on the picture to purchase!
I’ve always been partial to stories that used magic…my ultimate favorite series is the Chronicles of Narnia (not too crazy about the movies though). I wanted to see a woman of color as a witch…a reluctant one who is perhaps in the throes of rejecting her heritage because of past woes.
After writing this story, I think I might want to visit with Dr. Hawk and Kami again sometime soon!
